Solid elm farmhouse table

Authentic old farmhouse table entirely made of solid elm. Today a rare and highly sought-after wood, elm is renowned for its exceptional density, robustness, and the beauty of its grain. This table is appealing for its simple lines, its superb old patina, and the quality of its traditional handcrafted construction with mortise and tenon joints and wooden dowels. An old chalk inscription "Brest 36" is still visible under the tabletop, enhancing the authenticity and history of this piece. The table naturally shows the marks of its nearly 90 years of existence: variations in colour, open knots, natural splits, signs of use, and small irregularities consistent with its age. It is worth noting a slight tilt on the right side (approximately 3 to 5 cm). Despite this, the table remains perfectly stable, extremely robust, and fully usable on a daily basis. A carpenter could easily correct this level difference if desired. Today, we appreciate its raw character, its natural irregularities, and the marks of time that give it all its soul and authenticity.
