Art Nouveau mirror

Sublime art nouveau mirror from the nancy school. The wood has been carved to highlight the symmetrical fleurs-de-lis. A symbol of femininity, the lily is a classic of art nouveau ornamentation. Floral motifs are commonly used in this artistic movement from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. They can be found on lighting, glassware, furniture (daum nancy, gallé, majorelle), and even on architectural elements such as the entrance to metro stations (guimard).
