Birdcage "Fanton, Paris"

Old birdcage from the "fanton" cage factory, formerly located on the Quai du Louvre in Paris. (see photo stamp) Metal and wood frame. Decorated with multiple decorative or practical details: small spring doors, 2 sliding feeders, 1 small pot holder circle and a small zinc waterer, a small swing bar and another fixed on the upper level... Etc. (see photos), we can see that these cages were designed with a spirit of overall decoration and "comfort" for the birds, according to the criteria of the time! Clean set and left with its patina of use, it can be put back into service or inserted into a more current decoration without locking a bird in it! Dimensions width 51 cm, height 100 cm, depth 29 cm.
