Vintage 1950 free-form vase - Belgian ceramist Alexandre de Wemmel

A very original shape for this lovely vintage vase. It is in very good condition and is signed Alexandre, with the number 8 under the signature. A beautiful object to give as a gift or to treat yourself. Alexandre Gempfenstein (1909-1974), better known as Alexandre de Wemmel, signed pieces by hand under the base simply "Alexandre". He is famous for his ceramics with bold and avant-garde shapes. A vase highly sought after by mid-century design enthusiasts.
