A decorative vintage serving dish with five compartments (for hors d'oeuvres or as a fondue tray). The background is white/cream glazed with an elegant border of multicoloured floral bouquets interspersed with stylised green and gold patterns. This model is called 'Melrose'. It is an English ceramic item made by Royal Winton / Grimwades, as indicated by the marks on the reverse. This specific mark, the R associated with 'Melrose', indicates that the piece dates from the 1930s to the 1950s. Condition: No damage. Typical micro-cracking with age. Almost invisible yellow wear on the edges of the compartments. Dimensions: 27.2 cm in diameter, 3 cm high.
