Two vintage beds, designed by Marc Berthier, from the "Twenty Tube" collection for Roche Bobois, manufactured in 1972/1973. The structure is made of red lacquered tubular steel with a stretched cotton canvas. Completely original, they are in very good condition. They would be perfect in a child's room with current pop colours or a holiday home. They can also be repurposed as benches in a living room, for example. The canvas on both beds can be removed, making it easy to clean in the washing machine. One eyelet is missing on the canvas of one bed (see photo), a small area is simply unstitched (see photo), and there are small marks on the fabric and metal frames (see photos). The bed bases are impeccable. Total height: 54 cm. Height from the floor to the bed base: 35 cm. Total length: 198 cm. Total width: 99 cm. For mattress 190 cm x 90 cm. Structure: 198 cm x 99 cm. Marc Berthier, born on 4 August 1935 in Compiègne and died on 3 November 2022 in Neuilly-sur-Seine, was a French designer and architect. Some of his works are part of the permanent collections of French museums and around the world, from the Centre Pompidou to MoMA in New York. Berthier developed, starting in 1972, Twenty Tube, a complete programme of modular furniture made of lacquered metal tubing in colour and ecru canvas: bunk beds, cantilever chairs and desks, shelves, and rolling tables.
