Service trolley designed by Georges Frydman for Meubles EFA (Functional Equipment for the Home), documented in La Maison Française no. 120, August/September 1958 — where it is described as "a mobile tray trolley fitted with Formica", photographed in a complete EFA interior alongside the bridge table and chairs upholstered in Dunlopillo. EFA is the company he founded in 1954 with painter Louis Solères, inspired by Le Corbusier and praised by André Bloc in L'Architecture d'Aujourd'hui. In 1966, Frydman received the René Gabriel Prize, rewarding designers of modern mass-produced furniture that combines quality and accessibility. The piece is numbered under its base — a marker of authenticity characteristic of EFA's production. It rests on four brass-flanged castors, moves with ease, and perfectly embodies Frydman's philosophy: a piece of furniture designed for everyday use, mobile, rational, without superfluous ornamentation. The structure is made of square metal tubing finished in gunmetal grey, lightweight and durable. The top tray in oak is protected by a white Formica sheet and can be easily removed thanks to its golden handles. The trolley functions equally well as a serving table, discreet bar, or mobile side table in the centre of a living room. Complete restoration carried out with respect for the original materials: sanding, repainting in gunmetal grey, replacement of damaged Formica, refinishing of wood varnishes, and filling in a missing section. Materials: Gunmetal grey lacquered metal · Oak top · White Formica · Brass-flanged castors. Edition: EFA (Functional Equipment for the Home) · Numbered · France, c. 1958. Condition: Very good condition · Respectful complete restoration · Original numbered piece. Price: René Gabriel Prize 1966 · Praised by L'Architecture d'Aujourd'hui Pamono. Fits into a mid-century, modernist, or contemporary interior. Equally at home in a living room, open kitchen, or office.
