Female sculpture carved in wood from a stump.

Elegant sculpture representing a nude female figure emerging from a natural wood stump. Crafted from a single block, this work highlights the dialogue between the human form and the organic movements of the wood. The sculptor has skillfully exploited the natural curves, knots, and imperfections of the material to create a sensual and poetic silhouette. The face with closed eyes, imbued with serenity, harmoniously blends into the tormented veins of the trunk. An animal or fantastical head also appears at the top, reinforcing the dreamlike and symbolic nature of the composition. The sculpting work alternates finely chiselled parts with areas intentionally left raw, offering a remarkable play of textures. Beautiful honey patina with warm hues. A decorative piece of great presence, ideal for a contemporary interior, a chalet, or a collection of naturalistic sculptures. Dimensions: Condition: Generally good condition. Some cracks, natural splits, and irregularities inherent to the wood contribute to the character of the work. Period: Second half of the 20th century.
