Antique Napoleon III style mercury mirror, Victorian wall mirror.

Imposing, original and heavy mercury mirror in napoleon III style from the 1830s - 1900s - large thick frame in mahogany-stained wood - small wooden pediment cornice - original hook and copper hanging wire on the back. Total dimensions: 61x 45.5 cm - mirror: 42.5 X 35 cm. Cornice: height 9 cm - length 30 cm. Wooden frame: height 6 cm - thickness 5 cm - weight 4.100 kg. Good vintage condition of this mirror which has stood the test of time: a small, unimportant break in the wood glued back on the back (see photo 8) - note the typical stains of a mercury mirror. These are mirrors whose manufacture with mercury has been banned since 1835 and are therefore difficult to find nowadays -- the heavy glass (2.7 kg) and 0.8 centimeters thick is blue on the back, which attests to its antiquity and its authenticity of manufacture with mercury (see last photo).
