Rare series of 6 chairs model 3LC or "T Chair" by Douglas Kelly, Ross Littell & William Katavolos, first edition Laverne International USA, 1952. Launched in 1952, the 3LC or "T Chair" immediately made an impression for several reasons: its economy of means, as it is one of the first chairs to use a tripod base in such an elegant manner. The "T" formed by the cast iron stretcher provides surprising stability and comfort while reducing the number of contact points with the ground. The "Sling" concept, the seat is a simple piece of thick cowhide leather stretched over the frame, transforming the leather into a structural element rather than just upholstery. The 3LC chair stands out for its clean aesthetic thanks to its unique details, such as the leather directly attached to the chrome bars of the structure via an innovative hidden bolt fastening. The 6 chairs are in perfect condition. The seats made of high-quality 3.6mm thick vegetable-tanned black Italian cowhide have been replaced. The chrome structures have been cleaned and polished and are in perfect condition, while the "T" stretcher structures in thermolacquered black satin cast iron are in their original state. Iconic and museum-quality chairs from the 1950s in impeccable condition. Seat height: 44cm.
