Beautiful pair of mid-century modern "Miljø" lounge chairs, designed and manufactured by the renowned Danish maker Farstrup Møbler in the 1970s. These chairs are a masterclass in Scandinavian organic design, featuring beautiful steam-bent beechwood frames, stretched canvas backs, and loose, tufted cushions upholstered in genuine cognac aniline leather. The flexible bentwood frames offer an incredibly comfortable, slightly bouncing seating experience. Condition: The chairs are structurally perfect, sturdy, and entirely original. As seen in the photos, the leather cushions and armrests carry a heavy, honest vintage patina. There is surface cracking and dryness on the front part of the seat cushions from decades of use, but the leather remains completely intact with no holes, rips, or deep tears through the material. The wood frames show normal wear consistent with age. We have chosen to leave them in their original, un-restored state to preserve their authentic soul, but a treatment with leather balm or conditioner will easily soften the surface and enrich the warm cognac color even further. A truly characterful pair of authentic 1970s Danish design classics, ready to bring warmth and history into a modern home.
