Neo-baroque brass desk tray and letter opener

Period: ca. 1900-1940. This desk tray and its letter opener in louis XIV neobaroque style are fabulously decorative. The base of the rectangular tray is covered with a lattice pattern with flowers at intersections and in the centers. The short sides with pierced handles are decorated with acanthus leaves and rollers. The letter opener is shaped like a dagger and depicts a knight dressed in full armor. These items were purchased together as a pair but I cannot guarantee that they were produced together. Status: good. No damage. Small oxidation spot under the handle of the letter opener (see photo). Dimensions: tray: 31.5 cm long, 17 cm wide, 2.8 cm high, 0.810 kg. Letter opener: 27.5 cm long.
