Sublime pair of decorative stoneware birds, created by Swedish ceramist Erik Engkvist for the Jie Gantofta factory, Sweden. Stylised and naturalistic modelling, with a magnificent realistic glazing in brown, beige, and cream tones. Each bird has a different shape and decoration. Vintage Swedish production from the 1960s-70s. Excellent condition. Dimensions: Large bird ≈ 12 X 9.5 X 8 cm. Small bird ≈ 8 X 7 X 6 cm.
