Lots of 4 old bottles of arquebus water from saint genis laval (department 69 - rhone) Arquebus is a drink prepared by maceration and distillation of plants chosen for their natural virtues. The arquebus (formerly "water of arquebus") was supposed to heal the wounds of arquebus and firearms, hence its name. The recipe was developed in 1857 by brother emmanuel, herbalist of the marist brothers of the hermitage. From 1869, production took place at the hermitage of saint-genis-laval. According to the manufacturer, the composition of the alcoholic beverage would contain thirty-three plants. Of the 4 bottles, one still has its original label, see photos. The bottles are in very good condition. The largest is approximately 35cm tall.
