Fully renovated armchair in cream white cotton velvet. De Ster Gelderland is a Dutch furniture manufacturer founded in the 1930s by the Oberman family. Initially known as De Ster ("The Star"), it later became more widely identified under the brand Gelderland (named after the province where it is located). The company gained recognition in the 1950s and 1960s for its modernist and mid-century furniture, combining aesthetic simplicity with high-quality craftsmanship. The manufacturer does not correspond to a single designer: it has produced and published models from various creators, sometimes under license from Scandinavian designers. Its most recognised pieces are armchairs, sofas, and chairs with clean lines, often made from solid wood (teak, rosewood, oak), with particular attention paid to comfort, functionality, and durability. Over time, De Ster / Gelderland has become a reference in Dutch design, and its vintage creations are now highly sought after by collectors of mid-century European design.
