Important two-body buffet in Renaissance style, made of oak and featuring a very rich sculpted decor in high relief. The upper part, set back, is rhythmically adorned with four female figures sculpted as caryatids, supporting the shelves and framing panels decorated with scrolls, foliage, and medallions with profiles and masks. The uprights are highlighted with scale motifs and architectural mouldings. The lower part opens with two richly sculpted doors, each centred with a mask surrounded by scrolls and foliage. The belt is animated by a spectacular lion mask in relief, surrounded by arabesques and decorative motifs. The whole presents an imposing architecture, directly inspired by French Renaissance furniture, with an abundance of sculptures characteristic of the historicist taste of the second half of the 19th century. Beautiful brown patina of the oak, particularly highlighting the depth and finesse of the sculpted decor. A spectacular piece due to its dimensions and the richness of its ornamentation, ideal for a large room, a library, or a characterful interior. Period: 19th century.
