Carved antique mirror from Florence, 19th century

This baroque Florentine-style scroll frame is made of finely carved and gilded wood. It showcases typical Tuscan craftsmanship, with its leafy scrolls, volutes, and cut-outs surrounding the central rectangular mirror. Material: Hand-carved wood (often light woods like lime) and gilded with gold leaf. Period: Although its design evokes the baroque splendour of the 17th and 18th centuries, this specific model, of small to medium size, was reproduced in the second half of the 19th century, particularly in Tuscany.
