Finn Juhl – Coffee table Series 500 France & Søn in solid teak – Danema

I bought this table in a house in Antibes; the person had a set of furniture of the same type. Despite its striking design, it was covered in various layers of wax and grime, with such a dark appearance that it had become almost uniform. After being completely cleaned by hand sanding and steel wool, its grain emerged, and there are very few rough edges on the raised tabletop, which is the most exposed. These have been gently smoothed out through sanding. A natural oil-wax finish has been applied to protect it and enhance the shine of the teak, giving it an incredibly silky touch. I am selling it because it does not fit in my home, despite the pleasure I took in seeing it placed in a corner, unused for fear of damaging it.
