Bust of Zen master Taisen Deshimaru

Very rare bust and death mask of the zen master taisen deshimaru, who died in 1982. A world-renowned master, taisen deshimaru is a cultural phenomenon. Between his arrival in france in 1967 and his death in 1982, taisen deshimaru trained thousands of people in the practice of zazen (from the soto school) and published about twenty books regularly republished. Created by german artist gregor stehle, this aged plaster sculpture is certified authentic by zen master olivier reigen-wang-gengh, director of the buddhist center of strasbourg and also deputy president of the buddhist union of france since 2020.
