Exceptional set of 6 swivel armchairs, model "Airport" (Model 037), designed by the famous British designer Geoffrey Harcourt for the prestigious German publisher Hans Kaufeld in the late 1960s. A true icon of Space Age and Mid-Century design, particularly sought after for its organic aesthetic and remarkable comfort. Features & Design: This model stands out with its suspended half-moon shaped backrest (bullhorn style), which merges with the armrests. The ergonomic shell is supported by an elegant tubular structure in chrome-plated steel, anchored on a central swivel base with 4 branches in brushed/satin metal with clean, tapered lines. Condition & Restoration: The armchairs are in superb aesthetic and structural condition. The swivel mechanism works perfectly on each piece. The upholstery is in black faux leather (original skai). To restore their full shine and ensure their durability, these armchairs have undergone meticulous care: the natural micro-cracks from use due to time have been filled and stabilised with a flexible professional resin, and the colour has been revived with a specialised dye (Saphir Tenax) to achieve a deep, uniform, and vibrant black. The chrome has been cleaned and is very shiny (with rare minor micro-scratches consistent with age). Ideal for adding a modernist and elegant touch around a large dining table, in a living room, or to enhance a high-end meeting room/office. "Authenticity Information: The original paper labels under the seat are no longer present (peeled off over time, typical of this edition).
