Transparent Murano Glass Paperweight by Alfredo Barbini, Italy, 1970s

Rare stunning paperweight by alfredo barbini (murano, italy, 1970s). Made of thick transparent murano glass with a captured bubble. Minimalist and extremely decorative design. This paperweight is a great example of beautiful minimalist sculptural forms, which made barbini a renowned creator. The paperweight is signed (etched signature). Diameter: 9.5 cm; height: 6.5 cm. Weight: 0.8 kg. Very good vintage condition, light wear consistent with age and use. Alfredo barbini was one of murano’s leading figures of the 20th century. He was one of a few who embraced minimalism when murano glass-makers were focused on colorful designs.
