Large liftable/modular coffee table "Up & Down" vintage – Italian design glass & chrome

For sale is an authentic and large transformable table from the era, a magnificent testament to the ingenuity of Italian design from the 1970s (Space Age style). Thanks to its pure geometric tilting system (without hydraulic mechanisms or complex struts prone to breakdowns), the crossed X base pivots manually to change configuration in an instant: Coffee table version: large, friendly format for the living room. Dining table/desk version: thanks to its exceptional width, it comfortably accommodates 6 people for meals. Materials and condition: Structure: heavy, highly polished chrome-plated cylindrical steel tubes. The chrome is in very good condition considering its age. Wood elements: rare and complete presence of all original rings, rotation sleeves, and wooden pads. They perfectly cushion, protect, and stabilise the tabletop. Top: thick and very heavy raw transparent glass tabletop from the era (not modern safety glass). Note: there is a chip on one of the edges, but it is not dangerous; it has been repaired (see detailed photos), hence the adjusted price.
