Yves Christin, 4 chairs model Storm, 1970s

Set of 4 Yves Christin chairs, produced by the Airborne company in the 1970s (model Storm FB403). They are characterised by a cantilever silhouette with a sled base made of chrome-plated steel that offers a slight soft suspension. The seat and backrest are upholstered in original orange fabric. The tubular structure is made of bent chrome-plated steel, and the high-density injected foam seat and backrest are covered with a quilted orange wool cover. The 4 chairs are in similar condition, well-preserved with a beautiful uniform patina. They have no odours and are very comfortable. The tubular structure is shiny without deformation and is neither pitted nor rusty. A dry cleaning has been performed on all 4 chairs. However, there are still some signs of use, with slight discolouration in places, but the fabric shows no snags and is not torn. The chairs still bear the Airborne label under the seat. With a simple and elegant design typical of the aesthetic vocabulary of the 1970s and Space Age style, they will fit wonderfully into a retro, contemporary, or industrial interior.
