Antique lamp| Vienna Bronze - Franz Bergmann | style | Arab Oriental Landscape 30s

This is a special lamp. It is a cold-painted alloy, made in line with the work of Franz Bergmann, famous for his many bronze figurines. While his work dates back to the very beginning of the 20th century, this lamp is a little younger. It dates from the 30s, maybe the late 20s. The lamp is signed under the base, where it is written "Germany". This excludes that it is a conception of Franz Bergmann, who produced these articles only in Vienna and its surroundings. These cold-painted lamps from Germany are often attributed to Bergmann Studios, but this is inaccurate. The appearance of the article is however very similar, but it is not in bronze. It is in good general condition, some small damage on the tapestry and the base. The lamp represents an oriental décor of an Arab man who sells tapestries. It sits under a palm tree, in front of a façade clearly of Arab origin. The colors have faded wonderfully. In addition, the type of socket and the way the tree is built clearly show that it is an old lamp. Under the leaves is the lamp socket that houses an ordinary E14 bulb. 40W max is recommended, or LED. Wiring suitable for 110V and 220V networks.
