Piece of history of the Soviet Union. The canvas is from the Ukrainian (Soviet) school of Karkov. It is titled "Partisans", who are identifiable by the red ribbon they wore on their headgear. The identification label is not legible as to the name of the artist (П. А...сс) but we can find the mention of the title. The origin of Karkov is confirmed by the letters ХФ ссср (in phonetics; karkovski Painting depicting partisans at the edge of a wood. We understand that it is a painter from the seraglio of the Soviet academies of painting. Year 1964. Exhibition work in an official salon of the Soviet era. Beautiful and very expressive subject. The work must be deciphered carefully. Many symbols are hidden there! At first glance, two partisans, or rather a partisan and a partisan woman with their horses, jump out at you. If you look closely, in front of them, in the tall grass, you can make out an old woman (?) leaning on a scythe with her left arm. At the very top of the painting, on the right, above the yellow light of the sky, you can make out in the grayness buildings with towers, men's heads, figures on a mountain. Finally, to the left of the partisan's head, you can make out a building with towers. Church or castle? Guaranteed atmosphere. Luminous work. Which cannot leave you indifferent. Canvas and painting in excellent condition. Without frame. The canvas is sufficient in itself.
