Large Art Nouveau vase in repoussé brass – floral decoration – around 1900

Elegant antique vase in repoussé brass, featuring a beautiful stylised floral decoration typical of Art Nouveau. Its elongated and flowing silhouette is entirely worked in relief, with long floral lines rising up the body of the vase to a richly hammered upper rim. The base bears several inscriptions and hand-engraved numbers, including "DEZ", "1916", "286", as well as other old marks. They have been preserved as is and are visible in the photographs. Dimensions: Height: approx. 28 cm Diameter of the base: approx. 10 cm Beautiful old patina, with signs of oxidation, small stains, and marks of use consistent with its age. The interior also retains its original patina. I advise against heavily repolishing it: its antique appearance contributes to its charm. A very sculptural decorative piece, equally interesting on its own or with a bouquet of dried flowers.
