Pair of dog head bookends in spelter on marble slab, signed Lecourtier - sculptures

Pair of hunting dog heads in spelter and gilded patina, sculpted by prosper lecourtier, animal sculptor from the second half of the 19th century" the signature is on the collar of one of the dogs. One of the marble plaques has been damaged and restored (see photos). The gilded patina may have some missing parts.
