Creil and Montereau blue earthenware "Japan" dinner plate circa 1895

Flat plate from the French earthenware factory Creil et Montereau, "Japan" service in slightly blue glazed earthenware, round shape composed of a blue plum, cherry and chrysanthemum decoration running around the edge and the bottom of the plate. Also called "Monet", this service was produced from 1876 and testifies to the great influence of Japan at this time. One plate, bearing the Creil et Montereau mark of 1895 below, is in good general condition, just 2 chips on the back so not visible from the front (see photos). The other plate, bearing the Creil et Montereau mark of 1895 below also, is in good general condition, 1 chip on the front edge and 4 slight chips on the back so not visible from the front (see photos).
