DAX (Dining Height Armchair X-Base) designed by Charles Eames and Ray Eames, produced by Herman Miller / Vitra in the 1960s-1970s. The two shells are made of genuine moulded fibreglass, in the original Light Ocre colour, a shade now sought after by modernist furniture enthusiasts. They rest on their original X-Base frame and retain all of their period components. The markings present allow this production to be identified among the earliest European editions: • V thermoformed under the seat. • Shock mounts marked with an "H". • Original shells, fixings, and bases. The armchairs have not undergone any heavy restoration or replacement of parts. They are in very good condition with an authentic patina acquired over the decades. Signs of use, light marks, and micro-scratches are consistent with their age and attest to their authenticity. This pair constitutes a beautiful set for a modernist interior, a 20th-century design collection, or a project seeking iconic pieces signed by Eames.
