Dining chair by Miroslav Navratil

A dining chair by iconic Czech furniture designer Miroslav Navratil. He is famous mainly for his colourful fibre glass chairs but this chair is another example of his genius. There is an obvious inspiration by Scandinavian designers such as Arne Vodder or Kalderoni Rheydt from Germany, but what makes this chair stand out is the way the legs are fixed to the seat by using aluminium parts. The rich turqouise fabric nicely compliments the dark hues of the wooden frame. The chair is in great vintage condition with no dents. The frame has been strengthened in a recent restoration. The fabric has been cleaned and the entire piece has been hand finished by Shellac and Nitro varnishes in order to achieve a greater gloss finish.
