The lamp is certainly swedish, and certainly late 1960s / early 1970s, but we’re unsure of the maker. The lamp, when it appears, is frequently attributed to erik höglund for kosta glass, but it almost certainly is not. The glass slabs are thick and hand-cast, like dalle-de-verre pieces for mid-century stained glass windows, and are in a deep amber colour with a subtle hint of green. The top of the lamp has a brass cap with a brass hook that suspends the lamp from a heavy-duty chain of welded japanned steel which attaches to a brass hook on its original ceiling rose. The lamp is very heavy indeed, and will require a strong ceiling. It has been dismantled, cleaned and brought up to modern safety standards with a new earthed e27 bulb-holder and a very generous length of premium italian 3-core double insulated cable with vintage-style golden rayon braid. Excellent condition.
