This sublime 1950s ashtray captivated us at first sight. It has the air of a latecomer returning from a Gatsby-esque party, still adorned with golden reflections and echoes of jazz. The brass illuminates it with an almost worldly gleam. Its slender, deep black silhouette exudes an elegance that defies explanation, it is simply observed. One imagines it near a mahogany bar, surrounded by crystal glasses and snatched laughter. The small circular shelf seems to await the glass of a distracted guest, a forgotten glass of champagne, a suspended moment. Stability and refinement are combined thanks to the solid brass base, guaranteeing a sculptural presence while remaining perfectly functional.
