Superb giltwood mirror dating from the 18th century, characteristic of the Louis XV–Louis XVI Transition period. Its finely carved decoration elegantly blends softened rocaille scrolls, foliate garlands, ribbons, and floral motifs—distinguishing features of this pivotal period when lines were refined while retaining the decorative richness of the Ancien Régime. The pediment features a refined decoration with an urn and garlands, while the frame is punctuated with foliage, grape clusters, and scrolls typical of the ornamental vocabulary of the second half of the 18th century. The warm, patinated, antique gilding highlights the exquisite carving and lends the piece an authentic and precious charm. In very good overall condition, with a harmonious patina commensurate with its age. The glass has been restored and the mirror replaced. A rare and decorative piece, perfect for a classic interior, an elegant entrance, a refined living room or a more contemporary decor seeking a historical and sophisticated touch.
