Very beautiful antique wooden console. In Chippendale style, it is made of faux bamboo and its caned top is covered with a transparent glass. It is a nice size and will be perfect in an entrance, a bedroom, or as a bathroom vanity… In very good overall condition, the caning is impeccable and the glass is not scratched. It is perfectly stable, sturdy, and very clean. Visible signs of wear: there is a very slight overhang of the glass plate on one of the corners. The Chippendale design originated in Europe in the mid-18th century. This style was born from the heart and hands of Thomas Chippendale, the famous London cabinetmaker, and marks the first time in history that a furniture style bears the name of its maker. Until then, all models were named after members of the royal family. Among the designs inspired by chinoiserie, Chippendale-style furniture incorporates pagoda motifs, bamboo turnings, and sculpted trellis work. Height: 75.5 cm. Width: 81 cm. Depth: 43.5 cm.
