Napoleon III Pharmacy Pot

A spoon in the morning... A spoon in the evening ! Superb large pot / bottle / pharmacy bottle of the 19th century blown glass, thick, blue, closed by a sheet metal lid painted "false marbled wood". Paris porcelain label (with fine gold edges) glued to gum arabic with inscription "chaux biphosphate". Obtained from the ashes of animal bones, it was administered in the 19th and 20th century as a solution to combat scrofules, general debility, softening, bone decay, bronchitis, tuberculosis phtisia and other inveterate cathars... Under the base, original label with inscription: tissier paris label porcelain patented s.g.d.g. For (no government guarantee). Opening diameter 3.5 cm, base diameter 8.2 cm, height 21.5 cm. The mark of the pontil and the presence of bubbles attest to its age.
