Modernist sauce boat from Salins, France, featuring a stylised floral decoration with a particularly elegant modernist silhouette. This piece stands out for its tall, compact shape, almost sculptural, with a taut line reminiscent of a 1950s stiletto. The diamond-shaped embossed relief beautifully captures the light, while the elongated spout enhances its airy and sophisticated appearance. The stylised floral decoration in vermilion red, black, and gilded bronze is applied inside, reflecting a graphic spirit very representative of French design from the early 1950s. The golden fillets highlight the entire line of the piece, with two small triangular punctuations placed at the break angles, a refined detail that accentuates its almost architectural design. Stamped Salins. In beautiful vintage condition, with some discreet wear to the gilding due to age (see photos). Length including handle 23 cm, height 11.5 cm, widest width 9 cm, width at the spout 3 cm. A sculptural piece to be repurposed for a beautiful decorative effect.
