Superb earthenware cache-pot from the Art Nouveau period, made around 1900 by the prestigious French manufacturer of Saint-Clément. The high-relief decoration depicts an aquatic scene: swans gliding on the water, water lilies, reeds, and stylised foliage — a vocabulary that is typically naturalistic and poetic of this era. The piece is signed and stands out for its very fine quality of modelling as well as a soft palette blending greens, blues, and whites, which highlights the movement of the swans and the delicacy of the water. With its generous dimensions (23 cm in height, 31 cm in diameter) and excellent condition, it is a remarkable decorative piece, ideal for holding a plant or simply being displayed.
