Old industrial shelf / room divider in pine, France, early 20th century

Large antique French industrial shelf or room divider dating from the early 20th century. Originally used in a knife factory in Thiers, France, the shelf is made of pine and features several open storage compartments. The compartments are numbered with small brass plates, remnants of its original industrial use. Its open construction makes it suitable for use as a freestanding room divider as well as a shelf or display unit. With a depth of only 30 cm, it offers significant storage and display space while maintaining a relatively narrow profile. The wood has a naturally aged patina with variations in colour, marks, scratches, and other signs of its past use. The shelf is in good vintage condition with wear consistent with its age and history.
