Rare set of 3 nesting tables by the Belgian designer and architect Willy Van Der Meeren, a key figure in post-war modernism in Belgium. This set features asymmetrical tops in the primary colours emblematic of Willy Van Der Meeren's modernist vocabulary: black, red, and yellow. The organic lines and minimalist black tubular metal legs reflect the functional approach cherished by the designer. The tables are entirely in their original condition with their old paint and authentic patina. They show signs of use consistent with their age: scratches, wear, chips, and visible marks, particularly under the tops and on some edges. This deliberately preserved state contributes to the raw and historical character of the set. They have a very beautiful sculptural presence, equally interesting as side tables or as a decorative composition in a modernist interior, gallery, architect's apartment, or Belgian design collection.
