This pressed glass orangeade dinner set is a true gem of the 20th century. Composed of 5 pieces, a pitcher and its 4 matching cups, this orangeade set dates from the early 1900s and was manufactured by the famous Imperial Glass Company (Ohio, USA). This set features a warm orange hue, enhanced with iridescent reflections. It catches the light and reveals pink, blue, and purple tones when in motion. The pressed, geometric pattern evokes rosettes similar to dahlia flowers. For the smaller rosette patterns, one can imagine small wildflowers. The cups follow the same codes with geometric lines and rosettes. The set results in an original, vintage dinner set that is as useful as it is decorative! The History of the Imperial Glass Company Founded in 1901 by Edward Muhlemen, the Imperial Glass Company began production in 1904 and quickly became a benchmark for pressed glass in the United States. The company exported its objects worldwide, making them easily recognizable thanks to their rich, symmetrical patterns. The 29th Street factory in Bellaire, Ohio, was among the largest single-roof glassworks in the world. The Marigold-Arc orangeade dinner service is typical of their craftsmanship and their unique aesthetic. Despite significant success, the company went through a very difficult period in the 1970s, nearly went bankrupt, and was then taken over by Lenox. It closed permanently in 1984. It leaves behind a beautiful legacy of legendary collections, including this orangeade service. Carafe: H 24.70cm Cups: H 5.50cm / D 8.40cm.
