Metalarte Model 4817 desk lamp by Gaetano Scolari

Spanish Space Age 'swing arm' table lamp with integrated tray. Designed by Gaetano Scolari for Metalarte in 1973, the Model 4817 features a large, translucent white methacrylate shade with an internal metal reflector to direct light downwards without glare. The shade is mounted on a pivoting chrome arm that spins and extends up to a maximum length of 65 cm, allowing versatile positioning over a workspace. The substantial base is wrapped in brown leather and includes a stainless steel tray for organizing desk essentials. Provides a wide, diffused spread of light that can be extended across a large executive desk or retracted for a side table. Good vintage condition with visible oxidation and pitting to the chrome finish of the arm. The acrylic shade is intact.
