Mid-Century Modern "Pathway to the Sea" Vintage Swedish Coastal Landscape Oil Painting, Framed

A soothing and brilliantly executed modernist style coastal landscape composition, painted in oil onto board by the established swedish artist eric elfvén (1921–2008), whose works have been exhibited in public collections including the moderna museet in stockholm, jönköping museum, borås art museum, and the victoria and albert museum in london. The painting features an inviting coastal pathway that leads to a calm blue ocean and sits under a gentle light blue sky. Two houses punctuate the left of the painting, and the coastal path continues on the right of the painting. The artwork has a minimalistic and restful quality, as the artist has masterfully reduced the elements of each form down into planes of distinct rich colours and has also used gentle brushstrokes to execute the scene. This oil on board is housed in a complementary slim gilt frame. The painting is in excellent vintage condition, and the frame has very minor scuffs. Size: 36 X 42.5 cm (including frame).
