Description
Mid-Century modern Murano sommerso glass bowl by Flavio Poli (Italy, 1960s). Made of thick red and transparent Murano glass. Very decorative. Perfectly works as a bowl, a vide poche, an ashtray or just as a decorative item. Can be used as a display piece on any table. Height: 6 cm; width: 12.5 cm; depth: 12.5 cm. Excellent vintage condition. "Sommerso" (Italian for ''submerged'') is a technique developed in Murano in the 1930s which became very popular in the 1950s-70s. The result is a glass with contrasting colours that is commonly cased by a clear layer.
