Brass table lamp with pleated shade, 1950s

Circular brass base and stem paired with a pleated checked fabric shade. Scandinavian production from the 1950s. Dating from the second half of the twentieth century, this Scandinavian table lamp combines a slender brass structure with a pleated checked fabric shade featuring a more decorative character. The circular base resting on small spherical feet contributes to the visual lightness of the piece, while the contrast between the linear stem and the softer volume of the shade recalls the Nordic domestic aesthetic popular during the 1950s and 1960s. The upper cord also allows the opening of the shade to be slightly adjusted, subtly changing its shape and the way it diffuses light. Good conditions. It may show signs of age.
