Grand Art Nouveau Buffet with Showcase and Clock – Around 1890-1900
Very beautiful and imposing two-part buffet in Art Nouveau style, dating from the late 19th century. This piece of furniture stands out for its original architecture, elegant lines, and the richness of its sculpted decor, combining figured wood panels, floral motifs, and fluted columns. The lower part features two large central doors, each adorned with a remarkable oval medallion in light wood, surrounded by significant relief sculpture decorated with foliage, flowers, and scrolls. On each side, two rounded and fluted side compartments harmoniously complete the ensemble, giving the piece a particularly elegant silhouette. The upper part consists of a central showcase with three glass doors, allowing for the display of porcelain, glassware, collectibles, or decorative items. It is framed by two curved side supports, finished with delicate sculpted scrolls. At the top, a small clock with a golden dial, bearing the Junghans brand, crowns the whole and adds a touch of originality. A sliding shelf located under the top plate offers additional surface space. The interior of the lower part has vast storage spaces with shelves.
