Named after the impression of a rodeo bull with pointed, truncated legs and heavy full leather cushions. The Rodeio Sofa (1965) is made of vibrant solid rosewood, tan coloured leather straps, cushions and rectangular buttons. Typical of several iconic brazillian designs, the saddle-like arm cusions also allow for leg support. Vey comfortable and in good condition. The sofa is a stunning example of tropical modernism. Jean Gillon was first and foremost an artist who would later expand his talents to include furniture design and tapestry during the fertile design era of mid-century Brazil. Patinated leather corresponding with age.
