Authentic wooden tray with a hand-painted floral bouquet motif on an ochre beige background. Scalloped edge with rockwork ornaments and lateral scrolls inspired by Louis XV. Typical of the Second Empire (between 1860 and 1880). The central composition, known as a floral drop, is subtle and detailed, featuring gradients and touches of white light in the petals. The varnish is original and cracked across the entire surface; it has an amber hue and small bubbles characteristic of the shellac used at that time. On the reverse, four wooden slats forming a rectangle suggest that this tray is part of a missing set: a tilt-top table, a sewing table... The overall condition is satisfactory for its 150 years of age, but it does suffer from multiple chips in the finish, at the back, on the edge, and on the decorated surface. Dimensions: 62.5 X 36 X 4 cm. Careful packaging. I respond to all your questions regarding the items and their delivery. Feel free to explore my Selency shop.
