Large black lacquer and gilded brass bar by Jean-Claude Mahey for Maison Romeo Paris 1970. Furniture designed by Jean-Claude Mahey for Maison Romeo Paris in the 1970s. This piece was produced only on order and was very limited in edition. Very rare on the market, especially with its stools. Brass inlays at the bottom were repainted by a previous owner. It can be easily disassembled and reassembled for shipping. Dimensions: Bar H 117 L 150 D 70 cm. Stools: H 83 Base diameter 42 Seat diameter 35 cm. Jean-Claude Mahey (1944-1992) Born in 1944, Jean-Claude Mahey was a French designer known for his elegant creations, using noble materials such as lacquer, precious wood burl, marble, glass, copper, and polished brass… He created furniture, lighting, and accessories for brands such as Hermès, Pierre Cardin, Saks Fifth Avenue… His creations are characterised by clean and elegant lines, with particularly meticulous details. Jean-Claude Mahey won numerous awards, including the prestigious Prix René Gabriel in 1977. He passed away in 1992. His creations are still highly sought after by collectors and design enthusiasts.
