The Watchman, Tonia Cariffa

Tonia Cariffa — The Watcher — Oil on canvas, 46 × 38 cm. An intense gaze emerges from a luminous background of lilac, violet, and cream white hues. Through broad visible brushstrokes and marked contrasts, Tonia Cariffa suggests the features rather than describing them, straddling the line between figuration and abstraction. The eyes serve as the anchor point of this composition: they capture attention while the contours of the face blend into the material. A work with a silent and meditative presence, whose delicate palette contrasts with the power of the gaze. Oil on canvas. Dimensions: height 46 cm × width 38 cm.
