Dimensions: height 30 cm; reflector 20 X 20 cm. Weight: 0.8 kg. Manufacturer: zeiss ikon, berlin. Designer: adolf meyer. Production period: 1930s. An architect by training, adolf meyer first worked for peter behrens. Around 1915, he became the director of walter gropius' architectural firm, and later became a partner. In 1919, gropius called on his services at the bauhaus in weimar where he taught industrial design and construction techniques. Zeiss ikon, founded in jena in 1925, specialized in optical production and manufactured luminaires for offices, homes and public buildings. The company was particularly known for its mercurized glass luminaires. Adolf meyer was the official designer from 1925 until his death in 1929. Lamp restored while preserving its history and its original patina: very slightly patinated assembly, the glass reflector has no defects or shine, new electrical wiring composed of a round transparent elastomer cable 2 X 0.75 mm². Superb condition. See photos.
